There wasn't a lot of things that Elijah could say he had done for Aracelli but the things he had done certainly weren't like what he was doing for Aletta today at probably the most expensive place in all of Charleston. Elijah was dressed to kill, his deep navy suit fit his slender yet heavily muscled abdomen and defined his strong shoulders while giving him this proper aura that just screamed hopeless romantic. He had a single rose wrapped in his fingers, it's petals the rich color of blood yet it symbolized romance which Eli never understood, he found some sort of perfect irony in that but he pushed those thoughts away quickly. Tonight he had a decadent dinner as well as a fantastic night in, there were strawberries and chocolate waiting upstairs in their room as well as a few other things he hadn't quite gotten the full details of but Elijah liked it that way, if it was an equal surprise it was even more exhilirating. As he stood waiting outside the doors of the vast expanse of glass windows and massive ivory carvings he felt like royalty, well back in Sicily he was practically royalty but here was a much different story. Here he felt complete because he was working for a living, keeping himself busy and finally in love with the right person and out of his self critical shell where he could share a laugh and be excited about each and every second. Back home it was disaster every where he went especially with Ara around always nipping at his heels and making him wish he never would have met her in the first place. Elijah found that tragic to never want to share the company of someone you once saw worth dying for but these days he had become less worried about that and more concerned with changing himself enough to want to be happy and make someone else just as happy and right now that person was Aletta. Hands explored the pockets of his matching deep navy trousers before one was withdrawn and brought up to his neck and he loosened his collar a little remembering something Al had told him time and time again, she loved the sexy yet serious look and Elijah aimed to please.
Ever since finishing his highschooling here in Charleston he had always been popular amungst the ladies, he was the starting center for the football team and prom royalty three years in a row yet that wasn't something the stroked his ego. Nothing really had because honestly Elijah didn't have one, he never thought of himself as anything but equal to any other person and when someone wasn't as fortunate as him he gave the shirt right from his back. Now though, it was an entire different story since he had met Ms. Torrence, a firey bartender at a local place called 'Bounce' and she definitely stroked what little ego Mr. Shannon has. It was deliberate but she made him feel alive, worth something and certainly like a man when he needed it most so as the familiar tones of her car came into focus a handsome and very excited smile curled his lips and he anticipated seeing her beautiful figure stepping out of that car and walking straight for him. Never had he been so enthralled with a woman nor had be been so love drunk, intoxicated by her gaze and certainly mesmerized by that infectious laugh. Everything about her appealed to Eli in the best way something that had given him an addiction and certainly something he was dreaming of never being without. Letting his teeth graze his bottom lip he watched the valet stroll up to her car and help her out and his eyes were glued to her, nothing could take him away or out of this reality he was so craving and so he let his arms drop free from behind his back revealing the single red rose, that familiar glitter about in his deep and mysterious eyes.

mamma he’s the best i ever had Dressing up for any occasion was something that never failed to entertain Aletta. At work the fanciest it got was a tank top and jeans, or sometimes a skirt. Beer was spilled on her by drunken customers more often than she liked to think about, so she had given up trying to look too nice while bartending. But when she wasn't working and she had the opportunity to go out on the town with her girls, or go on a date, Aletta pulled out all the stoppers and put on her sexiest dresses and mile-high heels. She hadn't ever felt quite so much like looking her best, though, as she did tonight, or anytime she had plans with the guy she'd become involved with not too long ago. Elijah. What was there to say about him? He seemed so... perfect for her, which was scary in a way. He seemed to good to be true. A nagging voice in the back of her mind whispered that something must go wrong. They hadn't even been seeing each other for very long, and as far as she knew he could be seeing other girls too, as they'd never really discussed being exclusive. But Aletta had no desire to see anybody but him. Just thinking about him set her pulse racing a bit faster, and she tried to ignore it as she put the finishing touches on her mascara and then slipped on her heels.
Driving in heels wasn't something everyone could do, but fortunately she had a lot of practice. Her nervous hands tightly gripped the steering wheel of her black Jetta as she maneuvered through the evening traffic. Aletta was driving to the Charleston Country Club, a place she'd actually never been before, considering she wasn't exactly the type to be able to afford it. Apparently Elijah was...? There was still a lot she didn't know about him. She really didn't know how much money paramedics made. Her mother quirked up at one corner. He was a paramedic, out saving lives and all that. Her job sort of paled in comparison. Shaking her head to take that thought of her mind, she realized that she was almost there, and turned down the long, elaborately styled driveway that led to the country club. Was that Elijah waiting right outside the door? She parked her car and a polite valet took it immediately.
Aletta began to slowly stride up toward the lovely front doors of the country club. She walked almost like a model in her high heels from years of practice, and the blue dress she wore, which had a slight sheen to it, clung to her in all the right places but still left something to the imagination. Her hair was simple, falling in loose waves around her shoulders. Actually she was feeling like she looked pretty damn good. Until she saw Elijah. God, he was ridiculously handsome... and sexy. There was no point in trying to play it cool. A broad smile broke out on her lips as she reached him and stopped a few feet away. "Hi," she said softly. WORDS: 529 . TAGGED: ELIJAH . OUTFIT: HERE |

The pads of his fingertips grazed the dull thorns that adorned the stem of the rather fragrent rose as a slight ball of nervousness formed in his throat. This was the first time any woman had unnerved Elijah and it felt good, he felt young and giddy like a school boy crushing on the hottest senior in his class but the best part about it was he knew he would be taking her home with him and something about that was comfortable to him and that made his heart thunder even louder under his toned chest. As her car pulled away and that curvacious form was illuminated by the setting sun he had to recover quickly and keep his jaw from hitting the cold cobblestone under his feet. She wore a dress that matched his suit and the heels she wore really set off the tone and definition in her tanned legs and that sent Elijah's whole confident aura into a wavering storm as she neared him and he craved to be closer. Offering her a handsome grin he handed her the rose, "Good evening, beautiful." His words were soft against her ear as his lips layed a soft kiss over it before stepping back and looking at her level now since the shoes she wore added that extra amount of tallness. Taking her hand he gave it a gentle squeeze before the doorman opened the large sweeping door to let them in and so Eli lead her towards the dining area his strides relaxed and comfortable as he let his eyes glance across at her and he couldn't help but ruffle a loose wave that tumbled around her shoulders. "You look amazing Aletta, I think I'm underdressed."
His tone was teasing but only about the last bit, she did look absolutely breath taking and it was right then Elijah knew how incredibly lucky he really was. Pulling out her seat and proceeding to tuck her in like the chivalrous man he truly was and after only a moment of talking to the waitor he joined her across the elegant two person table. Smoothing out his trouser legs he gazed across at her the amber lights reflecting in his eyes making them sparkle and dance with a variety of shades. "So I do hope you like Bollinger, its the only champagne I drink." It also was the most expensive and he had ordered Bollinger Rose, his favorite back in Sicily and something his family kept in their wine cellar for any special occasion or if a simple dinner was turned fancy. It wasn't like Elijah was keeping secrets from Aletta but he was a trust fund child who saught out a normal life away from the flashing camera's and lime light he would be under in the shadow of his father and mother and being an only child that left little for him to pass the fame onto even if it weren't him who had won all of the trophies. His father was and is still a professional formula one driver and his mother a famous sicilian cook which left Elijah in a tail spin about what and where he should go and work even though he was always under the harsh encouragment to do exactly what his family is involved in. Something that involved the media, any sort of fame and mostly just attention in general but that wasn't him and he had decided that when he saw in Aracelli what her true intentions were.
She too was power hungry and living in vain which never settled with Eli and nor would it ever so working as a Paramedic was attention enough for him since all he really wanted was to help people. As the waitor returned with the champagne on ice and two menu's, Elijah thanked him before opening the folds of the delicate menu, vaguely watching him poor the golden and blush hinted bubbly into their rather fancy glasses. This was what Elijah lived for, spoiling someone he cared most about and this was just the beginning for her and she didn't even know but right then his heart skipped a beat and he wondered how he would ever tell her about this. About his money, why he can afford lavish things, why he can afford to buy her anything her heart could possibly desire, and why he had hidden it for the few weeks she had known him. Maybe it was because he was afraid of losing her or maybe it was because he was above all of the things money could by and that one thing that it couldn't buy was happiness and especially the kind of happiness he had with her. "So what sounds good love?" He asked her now, raising his eyes from the script to settle on her a slight questioning lift of his brows was given as well.

mamma he’s the best i ever had Amusement played across Aletta's face as she realized that their outfits inadvertently matched. She'd had no idea what color suit he'd been wearing tonight, but she loved the color of it of course. Just one more of many reasons that they were clearly compatible. He looked damn good in a suit, whatever color it was, that was for sure. A slight shiver ran down Aletta's spine as he whispered in her ear. She considered herself a mature, composed woman, but Elijah had the most ridiculous effect on her.
"If you're underdressed, then I might as well be naked," Aletta replied in the same teasing tone, a grin on her lips. Truly, he rocked the suit. He looked like a freaking celebrity; it really wasn't fair. She tried not to stare at her surroundings as they entered the elaborately decorated dining area. It wasn't at all crowded, but there were quite a few other couples and groups of people eating, all of them dressed to the nines and looking quite... rich. Like the gentleman that he was, Elijah pulled out her chair for her. She loved that. "Why thank you, Mr. Shannon," she said playfully, picking up the menu in front of her. The champagne he ordered was one she'd heard of but had never actually drunk because it was, what, $70 per bottle?? With her bartending income, that certainly was never in her budget. From what she'd heard, it was worth every penny, so she hastily replied, "Of course!" after a nearly indiscernible moment of hesitation. But a small feeling of dread formed in the pit of her stomach. Did Elijah think she was the type of person who could afford to drink Bollingers all the time? Unfortunately that was not the case at all.
She glanced up at Elijah, meeting his eyes, and as usual she felt immediately at ease and couldn't help but to smile at him. Turning her gaze back down at the menu, her mouth began watering just reading about all the rich, delicious, mouth-watering food. "Hmmm," she said. "That's tough... I have my eye on the filet mignon. But I'm open to suggestions from handsome men who've eaten here before." She glanced back up at him, quirking her eyebrow. She was sure he knew what was good here. Although... everything was probably delicious. "What are you getting?" she queried. WORDS: 410 . TAGGED: ELIJAH . OUTFIT: HERE |

Her voice was like a symphony to his ears, something so beautiful he couldn't remember what he was going to say let alone try and think of something quickly so he only smiled at her comments, the thought of her naked made his eyes widen only slightly an expression of sheer hope to see that someday passed over his finely sculpted features but was replaced by his normal, light and friendly smile that reached his eyes and crinkled the corners. "You are most welcome Miss Torrence." Watching her pick up her menu, Elijah turned his eyes and focus back to the print on the elegantly assembled page but shot a glance back at her when she agreed to his choice of champagne and instantly he knew she had never had it before let alone thought about buying a bottle. Normally a bottle costed Elijah well over fifteen hundred dollars but since he was close friends with the Vanderbilt's and everything at the country club was given to Elijah at a discount. When one knew another with an equal sum of money it made things easier to pay for and enjoy although Elijah had never been concerned about paying full price, he enjoyed treating himself and other people it was who he was and that heart of gold shines brightly.
When she spoke about the filet mignon he nodded instantaneously it was rather good hear and the ration they loaded you with was definitely for the hearty appetite. "That actually sounds rather delicious, but not as delicious as you." With that he winked at her his perfect white teeth grazing his bottom lip in a blunt tease, he wasn't trying to get any where just simply loved to see her shift in her seat at his boarder line dirty comments although Elijah loved to joke, teasing was his game but it was rare that he didn't make good on any of that harmless teasing. His dark eyes were alight with humor as the waitor returned and Elijah ordered for both him and Aletta before turning his attention back to her and handing her the sparkling glass of chamagne. Lifting his glass enough so it was suspended over the center of the table he proposed a toast, "To the one and only Aletta Torrence because beautiful has never came close to describing her." And with that he tipped the edge of his glass to her's the light clink echoed in the room gently and he smiled over the rim of the glass before taking a healthy sip and closing his eyes to savor the taste.
Setting the glass back down upon his coaster, Elijah folded his hands neatly together as he tilted his head slight to the side his brow furrowing curiously. "So how was your day? Any crazies at the bar hitting on you that I should be aware of?" Again he was joking and he had total trust in her but deep down inside Elijah's heart he was reminded of the unfaithfullness he had experienced back home and was forced to reconsidered every time he felt wary about Aletta. They hadn't been dating for very long but Elijah knew he was in love and tonight was his night to prove that to her by making things official and telling her those three special words. Right now though it was his pure over protective nature that shined in his deep chocolate eyes as he studdied her lightly making sure his expression was smooth, soft and most of all open to any answer, he was strong and could take a lot but in that moment he didn't know if he could handle being hurt by her and her alone, no one had made him feel so alive and without her that spark wouldn't be there to warm up his soul and being the heroic and fearless man he was he felt a pang of worry.
